| Synopsis: | First a web-based fantasy show about eccentric 157-year old Helen Magnus (Amanda), who runs a sanctuary and protection place for what she calls "abnormals", creatures destroyed, ignored and denied existence on Earth. Some are dangerous, some simply need protection and a place to stay. She convinces a young doctor, Will Zimmerman, to help her in her quest and is also helped by her daughter, Ashley. The web series lasted 8 episodes, each up to 15 minutes long. A year later, it was picked by SCI FI Channel and it was given a 13 episodes run for its first season. The show is very visual effects heavy, and is the first television series in North America to be shot mostly (approx. 75%) against green screen. It is recorded using a RED camera, which saves images at a resolution 4 times higher than that of high definition HD television. It is an imaginative, cutting edge television that has been Amanda's (who serves as both an executive producer and lead actress) passion for a long time now. It boasts incredible potential for story telling, with its stories ranging from detective stories through adventure episodes to pure fantasy departures. The characters go on their explorations all over the world and that world is created largely thanks to digital art. The series is currently airing its first season in Canada, the United States and United Kingdom. Amanda serves as both the lead actress and executive producer on the show. Her co-stars include Emilie Ullerup as her daughter Ashley, Robin Dunne as Will Zimmerman and Ryan Robbins as computer expert Henry Foss.
