The Official Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis Convention: Vancouver

Amanda made an appearance at the official Stargate convention right in her own home town, Vancouver (Burnaby is one of the three cities that make up Vancouver). This included question and answer talks and autograph sessions.

While the event took place over four days, Amanda appeared on one of them, the last day of the convention, May 5, Sunday.

Women of Film and Television Vancouver:
Woman of Vision

Amanda was honoured by Women of Film and Television Vancouver with Special Prize Woman of Vision, in recognition of her groundbreaking work on Sanctuary and taking it from its webcast version to the televised one as well as in recognition of her work as a mentor in the Canadian film-makers community. The organization's Spotlight Award are considered incredibly prestigious. Amanda herself, in a recent interview for AmandaTapping.Com, describes it as "a huge huge honour".

The official gala took place on March 7, 2009, in the Vancity Theatre in Vancouver, BC.
