Long time since last updates, but there's lots of new Sanctuary episodes out, so let's get rolling:

Please understand that greetings of anyone who has sent those after the official deadline have not been included. The images have also not been included as that was specified in the official announcement.

The greetings this year were only in the standard no frills form, we'll make up for it around Christmas!

Back with some more updates. Important to everyone, so placing it not only in the updates section, but on the front page as well.

Before I go on to talk about what's new on the website, be sure to check the recent interview with Amanda conducted by GateWorld.Net very recently - talks about Sanctuary, Stargate and Amanda's charity initiatives. It is over 30 minutes long and it is a video interview, so can't be missed! Follow this link to watch it.

As for our website's updates:

• The account page has been redesigned. Once you get yourself logged in, you will be taken to the Account Options page, where you can Edit Your Profile, Check Your Messages, activate Your Personal Page (user block defined only by yourself), subscribe to our Newsletter, Log Out and Delete Your Account if you so wish.

•   The private messages module is completely brand new. It has also been completely merged with our forums. In fact, just clicking on the Check Your Messages link in the Account Options page will take you to the forum page for PM messages. Sadly, since this is a very new system, and a very large step from the previous messaging system, we couldn't move the old messages to the new one that you might have in your inbox and/or outbox. That doesn't mean they haven't been saved, but they cannot be moved to the new system for the new one is incompatible with the old messages format. However, they are still saved in our database, so should you wish to recover them, let me know via our contact form and I'll be sure to send them to you via the pm system. Make sure you let me know what your username is.

•   When you log in, you will notice that Your Profile / Log Out option appears right under the Home link in the main menu on the left. This is where you gain access to your Account Options.

•   As promised in the previous message, the chat rooms have been completely reinstalled. There is a new script in place. You will need to sign up for it separately from the website however (I suggest using the same username and password as you do for the rest of the website). The separate password exists for security reasons. Hopefully, you will like the new chat room look (the link is in the Online Activities section of the main menu).

•   Also in Online Activities, the entire forum has been upgraded and is far more secure, too, and has some few more options.

Hello!

 I am pleased to say to that the upgrades have been finished now and our website is back up, running and operational. It will be far more secure and also, for yourselves, hopefully easier to use. There is still one or two minor issues that I am still working on, but 99% of the site works the way it is supposed to, and I also didn't want to keep you longer away from using it.

 Lots of changes. At first glance, it might look exactly the way you last saw it. The theme is obviously the same, as it was - no changing to that since Amanda has chosen it herself. Here is a short list of what has been changed.

•  The main menu now includes the Your Account / Register page - you can access the major options for your account from here (these pages all look different), i.e. Change your information (profile), Your Personal Page and Logout.
• The registration process has been changed and I think is more convenient - sorry for the change, but the spammers ARE at work even on Sundays :),
• The Events section of the menu has no Event Calendar - an add-on to our Upcoming Events. Have a look at this - you can basically choose a month and check what upcoming events there are that we know Amanda has signed up for. This section will be populated more densely within the next 2 weeks.
• Online Activities, temporarily, has lost Chat Room - I am looking for a better alternative, and also the old one isn't compatible with the new system. It'll be back soon!
• Miscellaneous now has a new FAQ section. It is a bit simpler, but I think easier to us.
• If you are logged in, you might see a section User Menu right below the Main Menu (invisible if you are not signed in). If you don't, go to Your Personal Page in Your Account / Register (main menu) and click Activate Personal Menu. Basically, if you have certain pages that visit most often, like maybe From Amanda or our forums, you can build your own menu. You will need basic knowledge of HTML for this. If you would like to have your own menu, but are not sure how to go about this because you don't know HTML, contact me and I'll help you.
• Next, below the User Menu, there is now Your Private Messages. If you receive a private message from one of our other users, the last 5 of those will appear here. It's designed in two different colours, so when you do get a new one, you will be able to spot it more easily.
• Newsletter block advertises our newsletter - as simple as that. If you are already registered, this block will not show for you.
• Who Is Online? provides just basic information about how many users there are on our website right now - also added is your private messages again - if you are reading a longer article, you won't need to scroll all the way up to get to your private messages block.
• All of your messages, including forums and private messages from the old site have been moved to this one, so everything should be in place.

Plans for the future:

• The Calendar in the Events section will have more events.
• New chat room will be reinstalled.
• A few (around 5 of them) pages have mysteriously changed background colour to white - this will be corrected and fixed in the upcoming week.
• Members List will appear in Your Account / Register soon. The old version of it no longer works in the current system.
• A CMPro system will be installed and will replace the current html pages system, which will allow for them to be loading up faster and more reliably.
• Occasionally, you may get a blank page when logging in. If that happens, please hit "Back" button in your browser and refresh the page. The script does log you in, but I had one case of just white screen. If it happens to you, please let me know what page you were on before it occured and I'll deal with it.

I hope you enjoy using the website again - and apologies for the break when the upgrades were being made!

AmandaTapping.Com's website is about to be upgraded to its newer version! This means the entire system - you will find it easier to post, attach images, the website will be loading up faster, the Your Account section will be easier to use and, maybe most importantly, we will be stepping up the website's and users' security. Major, major thing. Obviously, the website's template (orange/green colours), which was introduced recently will stay just the way it is now. All of the messages you might have in your Private Messages section and all posts you have created at our forums in the past will be moved to the upgraded website - have no worries.

However, what is truly important for you: we do not want to take down the website entirely for this and we still want to be online all throughout it, but in order to upgrade it, a copy of the website's database needs to be taken. We will work as fast as we can, and I am giving myself up to 72 hours to complete all the work, although I am aiming to have it all done within 24 hours over the upcoming weekend.

A copy of the database will be taken and saved tomorrow at 8am BST (London, United Kingdom - April 25, 2009 (Saturday), 8 am). Please consult the Time and Date website for information on what time that will be in your zone.

IMPORTANT: If you are a user, no posts to the forum, no private messages or any other posts or saved information made from your account will make it to the ugpraded website. The same applies to registrations - if you try to register in that time, I will personally contact you afterwards asking you to re-register at the new upgraded website as in such a case your registration would be saved to the old, non-upgraded database. I will work as fast as I possibly can to bring the fully operational website back again and will post a message on the front page of the website and to the forums about it the moment website is back up.

Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience, but the website will be more secure and far easier to use after the upgrade is completed. Thank you for your understanding.
